21st Annual Holiday Stroll
December 6 and 7, 2013 in Downtown Skowhegan
Holiday Stroll 2013 is a two-day event that has been a tradition in Skowhegan for over 20 years. It starts with a holiday parade through downtown Friday evening and continues Saturday morning-afternoon with lots of free activities and treats throughout and near downtown, including pictures with Santa!

Friday

Holiday Parade!

  • 7:00 PM - Starts on Elm St, heads south on Madison Ave to
    Water St, and ends at North Ave

Strand Cinema

  • 10:45AM - Movie matinee: Arthur Christmas - $2.00 admission

The Bankery

  • Serving free hot cocoa before and after the parade

Skowhegan Free Public Library

  • 10AM-6PM - Holiday Bazaar, Bake, and Book Sale

Country Crow Primitives

  • Open late with treats and free gift wrapping!


Saturday Morning and Afternoon

Tewksbury Hall (behind the Federated church on the Island)

  • 8-10AM - Breakfast With Santa

Strand Cinema

  • 9:15AM - Movie matinee: Arthur Christmas - $2.00 admission
  • 11:15AM - Movie matinee: Arthur Christmas - $2.00 admission

Hight Chevrolet

  • 9:30-1:30 - Sign up for the bike giveaway (3 girls bikes and 3 boys bikes) - winners announced 2PM
  • 9:30-1:30 - Hip hop dance classes every half hour
  • 9:30-2:00 - Ornament making
  • 9:30-1:30 - Glitter tattoos
  • 2PM - Bike giveaway winner drawing

Skowhegan Free Public Library

  • 10:00AM-2PM - Holiday Bazaar, Bake, and Book Sale
  • 10:30-1PM - Christmas "Craft"ernoon: Free Christmas crafts
  • 10:30-1PM - Yummy Snacks
  • 10:30-1PM - New free book for each child

Redington Home

  • 9:30-1:30 - Festival of Trees
  • 9:30-1:30 - Pictures with Santa
  • 9:30-1:30 - Cookie decorating

Chamber of Commerce

  • 9:30-1:30 - Main Street Bon Fire
  • 9:30-1:30 - Main Street Wagon Rides
  • 11:00 - Skowhegan Community Band performs at the bon fire

Skowhegan Farmers’ Market

  • 11:00-1:00 - Market open
  • 11:00-1:00 - Petting zoo

Somerset Heart Health

  • 10:30-1:30 - Meet Santa

Skowhegan Fleuriste

  • 9:30-1:30 - Christmas craft making
  • 9:30-1:30 - Main Street Skowhegan Cotton Candy Fundraiser

  • 9:30-1:30 - The famous talking Christmas tree facilitated by Skowhegan Lions Club

Directions

All Holiday Stroll events happen in and near downtown Skowhegan, where US Routes 2 and 201 come together. From I-95 North or South, take exit 133 toward Skowhegan/Fairfield and follow US Route 201 north into downtown Skowhegan.
