Riverfest (Every July-August)

River Fest River Fest is a multi-day, family-oriented event that celebrates the Kennebec River and incorporates older annual events like Moonlight Madness and other components of Log Days. See the River Fest page for details. Contact us if you would like to be an event sponsor or food vendor.

Maple Festival
(Every March)

Celebrate Skowhegan’s Annual Maple Festival with a week dedicated to everything Maple! Maple food events, a talent show, cooking contests, kids’ activities, maple syrup production demonstrations, and much more - all leading up to Maine Maple Sunday!

Holiday Stroll
(Every December)

Celebrate Downtown Skowhegan with late night shopping, Parade of Lights, kids' crafts & activities, pictures with Santa and so much more! See the Holiday Stroll page for details.

Kneading Conference and Artisan Bread Fair (Every July)

Maine Grain Alliance works to preserve and promote grain traditions through the annual Kneading Conference and Artisan Bread Fair.The conference includes informational workshops and demonstrations for interested bakers and grain farmers. At the Artisan Bread Fair talk to professional bakers, listen to live music, find antique baking tools and scythes as well as other tools, watch demos, and eat Maine-made foods.

Skowhegan State Fair (Every August)

The Skowhegan State Fair The Skowhegan State Fair is the nation’s oldest consecutively running agricultural fair. This event is over a week long and includes demolition derbies, tractor pulls, livestock showing, live music, carnival rides, and more!

New Balance Tent Sale (Every August)

Usually coinciding with Skowhegan State Fair and held outside at the Skowhegan factory outlet. The New Balance Tent Sale is a great opportunity to buy great quality American made sneakers at bargain prices!

Haunted Hay Rides (Every October)

The Haunted Hayrides at the Skowhegan Fairgrounds are spooky! There’s food and warm cider while you wait for your wagon, lots of scary scenes, and at the end of the ride there’s a vote for the best scene!

Festival of Trees (Every December)

For twenty-one years the annual Good Will-Hinckley Festival of Trees has been a key event and holiday tradition for families in Central Maine Decorated trees at Good Will-Hinckley, a “Down Home Dinner”, visit with Santa, and craft fair.
